Hi Tony
At long last Ch Petanque has a home with a real pavilion and toilets instead of just a power pole at our old grounds. This was a news article filmed recently and u need to advance about 13 minutes into it to find what they filmed. The guys there were attending a mini training session preparatory to Oceania (24-30 October). This Oceania event will be available as live feeds and updates via Twitter, Instagram and PNZ website www.petanquenz.com I have no idea how the live feed concept works but they may be of interest to you.
The grounds are still not complete but we have moved in and members are enjoying the new terrains which are in 4 quadrants of varying surfaces with 6 pistes 4 x 15 in each quadrant. Our membership has halved since the earthquakes in particular our older and more social group so we are looking forward to rebuilding this and once more becoming the largest petanque Club in NZ now we actually have facilities to encourage players. The focal point of the new grounds is the (very expensive) shade canopy.
Regards
Diane & Andrew
