Closed Singles 12th. January.
The Club's Closed Singles competition was held after the Annual General Meeting this year. Sixteen members took part in a league and knockout contest, an unusual format for Coventry. The league games were played to the restricted format of 7 ends, plus one extra end if the games were tied. League one was won by Brian Stote with 3 wins +16, League 2 by Ewen Cameron also 3 wins +16, League 3 by Keith Turner 3 wins +13 and League 4 by John Geddes 3 wins +15. Knock out stage games were played over 9 ends with Brian Stote running out winner for the eleventh time in his Coventry career.
Tir de précision 12th. January
12 member took part in the inaugural Tir de Précision competition. This was run to a restricted format to ensure a daylight finish so each player has just two shots to a single boule at each distance. Surprisingly Brian failed to trouble the umpire and in fact only 5 players managed to score points, the results being 5th. Geddes (2 points), 4th. Tony Thompson (points), 3rd. Glenn Woodward (4 points) 2nd. Bob Price ( 5 points) and 1st. place went to Ewan with 6 points.
